“Robyn completed a remarkable drawing of my wife Carol. The impact is at once beautiful, sensual and powerful. Robyn has a unique gift for capturing the beauty of the human form and, at the same time, the strength of the person portrayed. Physical and spiritual beauty are equally communicated in her work.

The physical size of her work communicates the drama inherent in her unique portrayal of her subjects. Robyn’s arresting use of light and shadow bring the subject to life in a way that allows the observer to experience the subject at different levels revealing perspectives not available in a photograph.

The drawing Robyn completed for us is inspiring in its beauty, a marvelous display of her artistry and a tribute to the female form. Robyn’s portrayal of her subjects is a bold expression of the physical and the sublime.”

“Robyn is a very good friend of mine and one day she suggested that she take some pictures of me. Regular pictures held no appeal to me whatsoever, but we hatched up this idea to take a series of “sexy” photographs - semi-nudes for my husband, David’s birthday. Now THAT was exciting. So Robyn, in her brilliance, took myriads of pictures and they were all so wonderful, it was impossible to choose which picture to give to David for his birthday.

So Robyn found this special frame - a frame that you can click through to a number of pictures. So I put a very nice, but fairly sedate picture on the top of the group and wrapped the whole thing up for David’s birthday. As he opened it, he looked at the picture and made some sort of “oh, isn’t this nice?” comment and then I said to him, “This gift is called, Depending on your Mood.” And as he looked at me with a puzzled look, I clicked through to the next picture, which was one of me with bare breasts and a sequined scarf around my neck. David gave a gasp and when I looked into his eyes, I swear I saw an excited six-year-old kid who has just received the best Christmas present of his life! I went on through the 20 or so pictures, saying, “And depending on your mood.” Click. “And depending on your mood.” Click.

This set of photos has been, bar none, the best gift David has ever received in his life. He keeps it on his office desk and, depending on his mood, he has an entire selection of semi nude pictures of me to choose from. And of course, if we have guests, he can click through to the more sedate, “regular” photo of me. THAT is the photography story. Keep reading for stage two of this wonderful birthday gift saga.

I now had a dilemma. What was I going to do on David’s next birthday? I had set a very high standard with the photographs. Once again, Robyn and I put our heads together and decided that she would create a charcoal portrait of one of the photos! So, surreptitiously, I asked David to show me his favorite photo out of the 20 sitting on his desk. Once he chose, Robyn went to work. And oh, my goodness, what she created! It takes David’s breath away every time he sees it and he could not be prouder. It is a huge portrait (about 38 by 50) and hangs in our foyer over the staircase.

I cannot say enough about Robyn’s talent and ability in this area. She is in her element in photographing and creating her semi-nude charcoal portraits. This is her specialty and she is brilliant at it.

To all of you girlfriends and wives out there wanting to do something special for your man - to all of you men who are yearning for pictures of your woman - Robyn is the one. You will thank her till the end of your days, I promise.”
